FROM THE EDITOR Many thanks are extended to the more than two dozen writers from University Baptist Church who contributed to this year’s advent publication. A special thanks to Corey Fuller who designed the cover and wrote a devotional, and to Marguerite Guinn for overseeing its publication.
Generally, the articles follow a certain arrangement. They begin with Old Testament prophecies about the need for and longing for a Messiah. From the New Testament, there are those who discover and share that Jesus is the Messiah. We also look at various personalities, secular and sacred, surrounding the birth of Jesus. The last section presents scriptures that show why Jesus came and the love of God the Father behind it all.
Some editing has been necessary for the devotions to fit the one-page length requirement. It is my prayer that these devotions will contribute greatly to our spiritual growth, understanding, and effectiveness during this advent season. Lynda Pence |
